The Vermont independent plans to make make his rebuttal over social media and already has ideas about what the president won’t be talking about.
“I’m absolutely certain what he will NOT be talking about,” he wrote in an email sent to supporters. “He will surely not be apologizing for the many lies he told American voters: how he promised to defend the interests of working people, but then sold them out to Wall Street and the billionaire class.”
In addition to Sanders’ response, Rep. Joe Kennedy III of Massachusetts will deliver the official rebuttal from the Democrats. And Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., may be skipping the speech, but she still plans to give her own address on BET.
(Of course, if anyone wants to tell us how official responses differ from any interviews given post-SOTU, we’d love to hear from you.)
