A circus stunt went horrifically wrong when one of the performers missed a safety net and had to be rushed to the hospital. Jaime Almarza Quezada, who is known as “Bullet Man,” was shot of a cannon at the American Circus in Santiago, Chile and video captured the moment he overshot his landing and crashed into the crowd. He hit a clown on the ground, who was knocked down but unharmed
Bystanders in the audience rushed to Quezada’s aid and he was taken to the hospital where he was treated for fractures to his jaw and knees. He is in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
According to the Mirror, the man operating the canon accepted the blame for the accident.
“It was a mistake on my part, my apologies especially to the audience. I did not disconnect the air-supply hose and the compressor made the air return from the accumulator which then raised the pressure causing a longer distance than what is always programmed.”
