Actor Will Smith will reportedly not reprise his role as Deadshot in the planned sequel of “Suicide Squad.”
Variety reported Smith dropped out of the DC ensemble blockbuster, which is slated to be released in 2021, due to scheduling issues. Sources told the media outlet that “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star’s exit was amicable, and he allegedly was not set to star in the movie.
It was not immediately clear which of the other actors from the first film will return to reprise their roles. Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Viola Davis also starred in the 2016 supervillian film. “Suicide Squad” went on to gross $746.8 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.
Smith will next star as the Genie in Disney’s live-action version of “Aladdin.” The film is slated to be released in May.
