As White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer spends Thursday and Friday fulfilling his Navy reservist duty at the Pentagon, deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is subbing for his briefings. The young senior aide might not be ramming her podium into reporters, but she is already commanding respect in the press room.

Here are five things you need to know about Sanders:

1. Yes, she is former Governor Mike Huckabee’s daughter.

Her father’s only daughter, Sanders grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she attended Little Rock Central High School and Ouachita Baptist University. She began her career in politics as soon as she graduated college, by working on her father’s political campaigns.

2. She was named in Time’s “40 under 40” in politics in 2010.

Aside from working as a field coordinator on her father’s 2002 reelection campaign for Governor of Arkansas and as a national political director for his 2008 and 2016 presidential campaigns, Sanders has a knack for multitasking. She also worked for Tim Pawlenty, Tom Cotton, John Boozman, President Bush, Lynn Fitch, Trent Franks, Scott Pruitt, French Hill, Dan Patrick, Ted Yoho, Robert Bentley, and finally, Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.

3. She earned her job defending President Trump throughout his 2016 campaign.

Sanders’ defenses of Trump’s often difficult-to-defend controversies, including his attack of Judge Gonzalo Curiel for his Mexican ancestry, and his then-campaign manager Cory Lewandowski’s assault allegations, won respect for the young political advisor.

4. She founded a consulting company before joining the Trump administration.

Sanders invested her political experience into founding Second Street Strategies, a general consulting firm in Little Rock, Arkansas. She also served as the vice president of another consulting firm, Tsamoutales Strategies.

5. She is married to her father’s 2016 media consultant, Bryan Chatfield Sanders.

Sanders married her husband in 2010 in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and currently has three children.
