Tulsi Gabbard Reiterates Call for DNC Reform as Unity Reform Commission Begins Final Meeting

The final meeting of the DNC Unity Reform Commission begins today. This is our last opportunity to make our voices heard before the rules and bylaws committees begin to meet to implement changes that will affect the 2018 and 2020 elections.

The grassroots energy and organizing that fueled Senator Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign started a movement, bringing the American people together around ending our costly failed regime change wars overseas, implementing a $15 minimum wage and Medicare and College for All, protecting our water and environment, and investing in clean, sustainable energy.

The American people are also in agreement, across party lines and ideologies, that the backroom dealing and pay-to-play politics of our time are simply unacceptable. We must eliminate the undemocratic system of superdelegates and commit to open or same-day registration for primaries and caucuses to put our democracy back in the hands of the people.

Change does not happen on its own, and it certainly does not start in Washington. Let’s stand together in this fight to bring about real change.

Aloha,

Tulsi

Reform the Democratic National Committee

The DNC’s approach of casting out those who haven’t fallen in line with the establishment and are demanding real reform, is destined for failure. While we await the final recommendations of the DNC’s Unity Reform Commission, we must make sure our voices are heard now, so they know that we will fight for a new path forward that is more inclusive and strengthens our democracy. Will you sign our petition demanding the DNC establish accountability measures in their decision-making processes, eliminate undemocratic superdelegates, and ensure open or same day registration primaries to ensure we return to a party structure that serves the people?

It’s time for the DNC to embrace transparency, accountability, and inclusion. Add your name if you agree the DNC needs real reform.
