MANCHESTER (AP) — New Hampshire officials are teaming up with Planet Fitness, headquartered in Hampton, to offer a free statewide health and wellness initiative this summer for teens age 15 to 18 to put down their electronic devices and get active.
The teens are being allowed to work out free at all Planet Fitness locations in New Hampshire from Tuesday through Sept. 1.
Planet Fitness plans to offer four $2,500 scholarships at the end of the summer in a sweepstakes that can be used for academic or physical fitness activities.
Health and Human Services Commissioner Jeffrey Meyers said in partnership with the state’s obesity prevention program, the summer program will help teens develop healthy habits and boost self-esteem and confidence.
