Tribute To Roy Stevens Of The 29th Infantry Division For The Upcoming 75 Anniversary of D-Day – D-DAY Survivor

My daughters Sarah, Stacey and Suzanne have been gathering pictures of”Pop – That’s everyone called my Dad – for the upcoming 75 Anniversary of D-Day I hadn’t watched this video in a long time, thank you so much Sarah for sharing it ….it brought tears to my eyes. We miss him so much!! The one scene in this video, he is standing with his had out stretched, is especially special. Read Tthe Bedford Boys by Alex Kershaw, you will understand why it is so meaningful. Miss you Pop!!

Tribute to Roy Stevens. I can’t take credit for this video as it was made by a member of the 29th Infantry Division (REENACTED).

I am in the reenactment group as well and i had the pleasure of meeting the man.

I talked to him for about 10 mins…. then, feeling tired i shook Roy’s hand and told him thanks for sharing his story with me and he laughed and said anytime.

I then went to sleep with questions i still wanted to ask but we had a training for a beach assault in a hour so i went to sleep.

I never got to talk to him again because i believe he left.

I never seen Roy again…. What I’m trying to say here is don’t take everything for granted.

I would have never thought that he was such a nice man as he would pass but it happened.

Roy was a 29er strait from Bedford VA. He lost a brother on D-DAY and he survived the horrible day,,,
