Preparing for the worst they are saying, “In case of emergency break glass”.
Paddy Power have revealed this hyper realistic figure of talk show host Oprah Winfrey at the US Embassy in London this morning.
The stunt comes just after the Irish bookmaker slashed the odds of Oprah becoming president in 2020 to 20/1.
This is the wax figure in all its glory, with a very clear message written all over it.
Donald Trump lands in London today to protests from less than welcoming locals.
And just this morning, Paddy Power unveiled a potential saving grace in the form of their Oprah Winfrey wax figure.
As the campaign for Oprah to run ramps up they encased the wax figure in a glass box with ‘OPRAH FOR PRESIDENT’ above her and ‘IN CASE OF EMERGENCY BREAK GLASS’ below her.
Paddy Power said “The age of truth and sensibility is over; Trump’s shown us that all you need to run for president is an overzealous fan base, an overblown TV show and the balls to lie louder than anyone else.
“Oprah has at least one of those qualities too, but at the end of the day we reckon she’ll do a better job than Trump, so she’s got our vote. Let’s hope she gets the message and jumps right into the swamp!”
The Paddy Power stunt comes as a survey revealed that a huge 71% of Brits want to see Oprah Winfrey run for president in 2020.
Other contenders gaining serious support in the UK for 2020 are Hilary Clinton (24%), Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson (17%), George Clooney (18%) and Bernie Sanders (11%), but Oprah is by far the most popular rival to Trump.
However, when it comes to Trump’s support in the UK, the national poll of 1,500 adults in Britain had some mixed feelings towards the controversial candidate.
Over a quarter think he’s a good president, but 8% think David Hasselhoff would be an improvement.
To add fuel to the fire, almost 40% of Brits surveyed think World War 3 has become more likely since Trump entered the Oval Office.
A further 44% feel like the world is more dangerous now and only 9% believe he is “making America great again”.
However, in saying that Trump is not without his supporters, and 21% would like to see him win a second term.
Interestingly, the findings showed that Leeds is a hotpoint for Trump support, with 44% percent of residents believing he is doing a good job as president and 37% wanting him to secure a second term.
On the flip side, people from Cambridge are not convinced, with only 6% hoping for his re-election and just 11% rate Trump as a good President.
Paddy Power have made a few Oprah specials setting odds to 12/1 for the outspoken TV host to be the next Democratic nominee and 20/1 to be the next US president but of course had to throw in a mad one while they were at it.
The odds for Oprah to award a car to the first person to vote for her in every state’ are 250/1, and in fairness it isn’t unlike something she would do.
Worth a try.
