Jerry Seinfeld Says He Can’t Pronounce “Worcester”

Jerry Seinfeld isn’t sure how to pronounce “Worcester,” so he’s going straight to the source to find out.

The comedian and former star of the eponymous hit television show tweeted about his upcoming performances at the Hanover Theater in Worcester on Saturday, claiming that his reason for visiting the Massachusetts town is to learn how to properly say and spell its name.

“I cannot understand the spelling and pronunciation of Worcester, Mass,” Seinfeld wrote. “So I’m coming in for 2 shows Saturday night to figure it out.”

People were quick to offer up their version of the correct pronunciation, but it looks like not everyone agrees:

One person provided this advice, just in case Seinfeld can’t master the word by the end of his stint in Worcester:

Seinfeld will perform his stand-up comedy routine twice on Saturday, at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets are still available for the 9:30 p.m. show and range from $50 to $150.
