Hong Kong Airport Testing 40-Second Full-Body Sanitizing Booth

A booth designed to conduct full-body disinfection is being trialed by staff at Hong Kong International Airport as the international aviation industry looked to bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The “CLeanTech” booth delivers a 40-second disinfection and sanitization procedure and is coated in an antimicrobial covering that can kill viruses and bacteria on clothing and human skin, according to the airport.
The booth was only being used by airport staff who had interaction with arriving passengers, the airport said. International travel has been impacted significantly by the virus.
The International Air Transport Association estimated global airline passenger revenues to fall by $314 billion in 2020, a 55 percent decline compared to 2019.
By May 7 there were more than 3.5 million cases of coronavirus worldwide and over 250,000 people had died, according to the World Health Organization.
