He Shot An Officer 3 Times. That Same Officer Showed Up At His Sentencing And Tossed Him A Bottle of KY.

Kevin Rojas, 21, was sentenced to life in prison on charges of attempted first-degree murder, attempted manslaughter, two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, grand theft auto and fleeing, according to a Florida-Times Union report.

In March 2016, Rojas was fighting with his girlfriend when he grabbed a gun, fired it a few times and suggested the day may be his last one, according to police.

Rojas then took off in a car and began driving erratically. That is when the undercover officer decided to pull Rojas over. When the officer took his eyes off Rojas, the then-19-year-old began shooting through the windshield of the officer’s car, police said.

Three bullets hit the officer, including one in the face. His son, who was in the back seat, was not struck.

The officer fired back at Rojas, who then began to flee. Rojas stole a truck, raced back to his neighborhood and barricaded himself inside his home after crashing the truck into a neighbor’s house, according to police.

Rojas was shot multiple times after police said they saw him through the sliding-glass door pointing a gun at them, police said in a report by the Florida-Times Union.

In court, Rojas appeared with a smug look on his face as the officer began to call out the man who shot him three times.

“I will take those bullets instead of a fellow officer and an innocent bystander,” the officer said, directing his comments toward Rojas in court. “When I brought the fight back to you, you ran like a coward.”

The officer then took out a tube of K-Y Jelly, a personal lubricant, and tossed it onto the table where Rojas was sitting.

“I brought a little gift for you,” the officer said to Rojas. “You will need it where you are going.”
