FIT FUND accepting applications for $10K in grants

PRINCEVILLE — The Kauai North Shore Community Foundation invites North Shore-based nonprofit organizations or programs to apply for a FIT FUND grant.

The foundation created the FIT FUND to grant funds to organizations, events and programs that enhance fitness, health and wellness on the North Shore. To be considered, an organization must be classified by the IRS as a tax-exempt nonprofit charity under section 501(c)(3), or structured as a public school or other public program.

Priority will be given to organizations that have participated in and/or supported the foundation’s Ohana Fit Fest presented by Wilcox Health, and whose programs strongly enhance the health, wellness or fitness of the North Shore community.

Five North Shore organizations received 2017 FIT FUND grants, totaling $10,000: Anaina Hou Community Park, Hanalei Hawaiian Civic Club, Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay, Hanalei School Foundation and Aina Ho‘okupu O Kilauea.

The Kauai North Shore Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

Applications and required documents must be submitted by Dec. 31 for grant distribution in 2018. For more information about Ohana Fit Fest presented by Wilcox Health and to access the FIT FUND application, visit www.OhanaFitFest.com.
