Worcester, MA (June 19, 2017) –Â The City of Worcester will launch a pilot version of its newly-redesigned website this week, starting with a kickoff party on Thursday.
City Manager Edward M. Augustus, Jr. and the website design team will demo the new site on Thursday, June 22 at 5:30 p.m. in the Bancroft Lobby at 50 Franklin Street.
The event is being held in conjunction with Doorbell at the Grid, who will be hosting their “Summah Solstice Party” which will include games and food. The site unveiling will take place around 6 p.m.
The URL for the pilot site will be released on the City’s social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) after the presentation.
The purpose of the pilot site is to provide the public with the opportunity to give feedback on the new site in preparation for the full launch by the end of the summer. The public will be able to check out the new homepage, some of the new functionality and a number of new features and pages. The effort will launch with a survey to gather feedback and inform the final look and feel of the new site.
The new site has been designed with the user experience in mind, to improve navigation and aesthetics of the City’s web presence and to make city government more accessible to the public.
The City will also kick-off a “Send us your best Worcester photos” initiative. Residents will be given the chance to submit photos that could be used on the new site when it officially launches later this year.
