Tell Boston City Council: Do it right when it comes to police body cameras
The Boston Police Department has announced a pilot body-worn camera program to roll out this summer, and I am writing to express my support for the program–but only if it ensures transparency, accountability and privacy.
The proposal by the Boston Police Camera Action Team does this.
I’m counting on your leadership to move the issue forward while ensuring that the program is not set up to fail due to lack of good policies.
Body cameras can protect people on both sides of the badge as long as good policies guide their use.
Thank you for considering my concerns.
