Support Pregnant Workers
Last week, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Amendment was added to the Senate’s Economic Development legislation. Please do everything you can to keep this critical provision in the final jobs bill.
These protections will ensure that pregnant employees are not fired when they need basic accommodations, like a water bottle to sip or a stool to sit on. Mothers shouldn’t have to choose between their jobs and the health of their babies. An accommodation can make the difference between safe and healthy working conditions and losing a job, or worse!
Please reach out to leadership and the conferees to ask them to keep these important protections for pregnant workers in the final jobs bill.
