Stop the Boston Police Departments Social Media Spying!

Before the holiday break, we told you about the Boston Police Department’s plan to spend $1.4 million on a costly and frightening internet surveillance program. Over one thousand of you told City Council and the mayor to stop this dangerous proposal.

But the fight isn’t over yet.

The BPD planned to sign a contract for this Orwellian social media spying system by year’s end. But as of January 5, the department still had not signed a contract. That’s thanks to you.

Still, the police department hasn’t backed down.

We need you to raise your voice again. Please call Mayor Walsh’s office on our day of action on Tuesday, January 17 to tell him to drop this dangerous, costly, wasteful surveillance plan.
