More High-Ranking Officials Resign in the Wake of DNC Email Hack
More high-ranking officials at the Democratic National Committee have reisgned because of the now notorious hack into the organizations’ servers last week.
Among those who have left the organization:
• Brad Marshall, chief financial officer
• Luis Miranda, director of communications
• Amy Dacey , chief executive officer
Donna Brazile, strategist for the DNC praised the resigning officials in a statement: “Thanks in part to the hard work of Amy, Luis, and Brad, the Democratic Party has adopted the most progressive platform in history, has put itself in financial position to win in November, and has begun the important work of investing in state party partnerships. I’m so grateful for their commitment to this cause, and I wish them continued success in the next chapter of their career.”
Days before the DNC commenced in Philadelphia, WikiLeaks released 20,000 internal emails and other various documents allegedly syphoned from servers at the DNC attributed to a hacker known as Guccifer 2.0, to the public because the contents show a conspiracy to takedown Bernie Sanders.
The leak covers January 2015 to May 2016 and surrounds “key figures in the DNC” including:
• Jordon Kaplan, director of national finance
• Scott Comer, finance chief of staff
• Daniel Parrish, director of financial data & strategic initiatives
• Allen Zachary, director of finance
• Andrew Wright, senior advisor
• Robert Stowe, director of finance
For example, a message from May of this year from Brad Marshall, chief financial officer of the DNC, to Luis Miranda, director of communications and Mark Paustenbach, deputy director of communications, requesting that they look into Sanders religious beliefs.
Marshall wanted to know if Sanders “believe[s] in a god” because he is convinced that Sanders “is an atheist” and this would put off Marshall’s “Southern Baptist peeps”.
And while Marshal cannot “recall” writing the email, he explained that it doesn’t refer to Sanders, but “a surrogate”; however the email references Jews and Sanders was the only Jewish candidate.
Dating back to May of this year, Paustenbach emailed Miranda on how to create a negative “Bernie narrative” centered on the concept that he “never ever had his act together”.
Another email from the same time sent by DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to Miranda and Paustenbach discusses her disdain for “the Israel stuff” and quotes a portion of an article from the Washington Post: “Sanders plans an aggressive effort to extract platform concessions on key policies that could prompt divisive battles at a moment when front-runner Hillary Clinton will be trying to unify the party. Among other issues, he plans to push for a $15 national minimum wage and argue that the party needs a more balanced position regarding Israel and Palestinians, according to a Sanders campaign aide who requested anonymity to speak candidly.”
In response Miranda wrote: “HFA [Hillary for America] specifically pushed that part of it. At least that’s what it seems like from when Mark spoke to the reporter.”
Debbie added to the scheme: “Wait, you mean HFA pushed that Sanders wants to moderate our Israel plank in the platform or that they do? The Israel plank, that they see it as an ideal issue to marginalize Bernie on.”
In numerous emails , Debbie calls Sanders’ campaign manager “an ASS” and a “damn liar”.
