mass-moose-26be63cf90b3080635444bd48f62e255d721606bBELMONT, Mass., June 1 (UPI) — A loose moose caught on camera by Massachusetts police made its way to a neighboring city, where it was again recorded on video by police.

The Watertown Police Department posted a video to Facebook Wednesday morning showing an officer’s video of the juvenile moose running on a residential sidewalk.

“The Environmental Police were notified and responded,” the post said.

“Obviously this is a very unique situation, a moose in an environment like Watertown,” Watertown police Detective Lt. James O’Connor told the Boston Globe. “Definitely out of the ordinary.”

The moose made its way to neighboring Belmont, where the local police captured another video of the moose trotting through a street.

“He was in and out of the woods,” Belmont Police Assistant Chief James MacIsaac said. “We don’t have any reports of damage. It’s not bothering anybody.”

State Environmental Police said the moose was last seen heading into the woods about 10 a.m.
